Wild berry, new leather and thyme are some of the aromas you'll discover in this savory Brunello. The palate doles out juicy black cherry, ripe raspberry, white pepper and tobacco notes, while firm, polished tannins offer support. Drink 2018-2025.

The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly over the course of an hour, evolving to offer a bouquet of dusty cedar, sage, dried cherries and hints of brown spice. Its textures are silky, almost creamy in feel, ushering in a polished display of tart raspberry and plum, balanced by zesty acidity and salty mineral tones. A subtle coating of fine tannin lingers, along with tart black fruits and hints of tobacco and tar. While there is still a tug of structural heft to contend with, the 2011 is drinking beautifully after an hour or two in decanter, making for an excellent option for drinking over the next three to five years.
