Ruby red tending to light burgundy red.The bouquet reminds of intense graphite, rust, morello cherry dipped in chocolate, mint, dry hay, violet in the nose. Taste satisfies the olfactory pleasure lavishing sensations of black truffle, violet, liquorice and plum. Wine with a rich alcoholic content and as much freshness with wide tannin, initially velvety and then ending a bit dry, as fully characterised by the vine. The wine dithers between alcohol and freshness but at the end freshness prevails. Medium-bodied, with a long aromatic persistence. Liquorice and fresh plum aftertaste.

This is round and full of sweet, ripe cherry, strawberry, graphite and earth flavors. Firms up as the finish plays out, echoing an essence of fruit. Best from 2022 through 2039. 2,200 cases made, 1,300 cases imported.

Underbrush, red-skinned-berry and tobacco aromas emerge from the glass. The juicy palate offers raspberry jam, orange zest and cinnamon alongside firm tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2022-2030.

A slightly subdued yet pretty display of fresh, ripe strawberry and cherries, mixing with rosy florals, cedar, and sweet spice emerges from La Fortuna's 2015 Brunello di Montalcino. Soft, fleshy textures play host to ripe cherry and sweet subtle spices, as pretty inner floral tones amass above a coating of fine tannin. The finish is medium in length, resonating on acids and spice, with a hint of grippy tannin and lingering floral tones. La Fortuna is not a powerful wine, but it finds wonderful balance with its delicate nature.
